Fashion's Night Out

This past Thursday night all around the world it was Fashion's Night Out! Of course there was a fashion show with all the new fabulous trends, prizes/giveaways, food etc. If you're interested check it out here. I modeled in the fashion show for Dillards. They were going for a wild/"out of the box" look. So, they ratted us up some wild Texas hair and applied some heavy funky make up and we were ready for the runway. It was a fun experience, and a great excuse for some shopping!!

I told you...we looked pretty wild!!! Check out all the news trends at Dillards here.

How about the weather? (If you've been reading lately, you know..I'm ready for fall!) Cool weather just makes me smile a little bit more each day! Saturday, I was definitely grinning from ear to ear! It was in the mid 80's and so FABULOUS. The best is yet to come my friends.

Have a blessed week!

Dove Hunting

It's that time of year again and down here in the south, it's a day to celebrate. Opening day of Dove Season my friends. (for those of you offended by hunting, I wouldn't plan on coming to Texas) Dove season/football is just a weekend to celebrate & that is just what we did...

The hot day started out with Hunting!
Note: The dryer sheets. Rub the dryer sheet all over your arms and legs & keep it in your pocket and it will keep the mosquitos away. MYTH! It did NOT work for me. Several mosquito bites later & finding out we were hunting by a creek (breeding ground for those nastys!) ... I was back in the AC!

We had a dove hunting party that evening & cooked out!

& what's a dove hunting party without a camo theme?

How was your weekend? Are you big hunters/ football fans?

Since football season is here cold weather can't be too far behind! I'm not sure how much longer I can handle this Texas heat. Bring on the Fall weather! (Can I get an Amen?!?)  Next update: Dillards Fashion show

Weekend Wrap & First day

This past weekend was the last weekend before the craziness of school!  Friday started out with a birthday lunch for Grannie. I love birthdays & I think it's always a MUST to celebrate, no matter the age!

Friday evening was a long overdue GIRLS NIGHT! We headed to Lytle for margs & lots of laughs. We are all going in different directions with college, starting careers & so we had lots of catching up to do.

Also, Today is Malarie's birthday.Happy birthday sweet girl!

The weekend ended with a yummy lunch at my grandparents & a little fishing that afternoon. The fish weren't biting but the cool/cloudy weather made up for it! No pictures...because this sista girl was looking rough! (maybe I scared off the fish HA!)

Today was the first day of school for many! 3 more semesters & I'll be done with college.   I can't wait for the first day to have my own classroom & meet all my sweet students! As for now, It's time to get back into a routine. (or should I say craziness, filled with lots of lesson plans, projects & whatever life throws at me!)

Happy Birthday Grannie!

She's a mom, friend, sister & a Christian lady. She's the most giving person that I know. She's definitely Type A (this one woman is organized, never late & always gets things done early & is ALWAYS lending a helping hand.) I'll admit it..I'm beginning to realize I am taking after my Grannie quite a bit. She's my inspiration and I'm following her footsteps into the education world.

She's my GRANNIE & the sweest lady in the world.

Happy Birthday sweet lady! Thanks for all your love and support. Our family couldn't make it without you.

A day late

Yeah, I know..It's Thursday evening (which I'm definitely not complaining) but I'm still going to do WILW. I've been lacking on my blogging, so I'm trying to get back on my game y'all!

It's that time of year again! I know you've all seen the school supply aisle. While most people avoid it..thats the first section I head towards. New school supplies are so fun  & every child needs them. Look for donation boxes at your local grocery stores or your child's school to help donate to children in need. (Colorful folders, brand new markers, freshly sharp pencils..be still my teacher loving heart!!)

With all the big school supply ranting...of course, FALL IS COMING! Yes, I'm a Texas girl I can catch a 4 pound bass fish, & shoot a gun but when it comes to the texas heat, it's right along side driving a stick shift truck. (In other words: it's a tough battle y'all!) I am definitely a cool weather loving girl. (cold weather, boots, scarfs, hot chocolate, leopard blanket=LOVE) Infact, I just got a steal on some fabulous new leopard house shoes. (A must for the cold weather)

I know you all pinterest lovers have seen this fabulous outfit & JEWELRY! So when I came across this layered gold link bracelet for 30% off at Express..I had to have it! The picture doesn't look too fabulous..but trust me it's much cuter in person.

I got my first piece of Jon Hart last year and I LOVE IT. I got the left bank tote in ocean blue with my named monogrammed on it. I don't use a purse much when I'm going to school..I just use my JH tote for everything. I've been longing for this JH pouch for a while. It's pretty cheap, I just haven't gotten around to getting it. Everyone needs a little back to school present...right? (I'm sure Grannie will think so too!)

Remember this chevron beauty? Well I'm still LOVING it but I'd LOVE it even more if it was still on my suitcase! Unfortunately, the only pit of my trip to Ohio was my missing luggage tag. It either was stolen or fell off? However, the plastic tye which attaches it to the zipper was still there when I picked up my bag at the baggage claim. Stolen- I hope they enjoy my initials, address & Texas girl quote on it. (Maybe, just maybe they really needed it to complete a new fabulous outfit..& I did them a HUGE favor..right?) Lost- It has my address on the back, maybe a sweet chevron loving soul will mail it back to me! (wishful thinking, I know!)

A special guy is moving and of course that calls for a MOVING GIFT BASKET. I have some towels & cooking supplies in this first basket. (Note: those are cream colored towels NOT light pink. My sister had a quick laugh when she thought I was giving a guy light pink towels.) In the second gift basket(not shown yet) I have a couple of cute pictures/quotes framed, decorative initial letters, school supplies (duh!), & snacks!

As much as I love new school supplies & the fall season, I'm still soaking up these last few days of summer. Next week I'll be finishing up my own school supply shopping, & getting my closet organized. It's time to get back into a routine y'all & I'm ready!

For those of you starting back to school soon: enjoy your LAST weekend. It's TAX FREE. (a good excuse to go shopping? or would you rather pay the extra Tax & avoid the crowd?)

I'm back

Last Tuesday, I was barely awake when I had to catch my early flight to OHIO! ( A sprinkled donut for breakfast in DFW was a must.) I was finally reunited with my seester & we had a blast all week long. I have lots of pictures of our week but I could kick myself for not taking pictures of her house. (She's a decorator, artist & a photographer, the best cook in the world...in other words she's FABULOUS. Sorry boys she's happily married!) I'm pretty luck to have such a talented sister. Also, I  have some exciting news coming soon!

A quick recap of photos. More to come soon. (I may have spent an hour on this post trying to figure out how to get my pictures from my iphone to my windows laptop & available to edit. PHEW!) As much as I love Texas, I wasn't ready to come back home! Only a couple of more weeks and school will be starting. I'm actually ready to get back in a routine etc. (I'll probably regretting say that after I have 5 projects due)

Update on the planner: I honestly haven't been shopping for a new planner yet. I plan to check around town but I'm pretty much sold on this
2012 & 2013 Planner

You can personalize the planner which makes it something you'll love & use a lot. If you like it, buy it here. I'll let ya know what I decide (not sure why It's always so hard for me to order stuff online verses in the store where, I just grab things off the shelves like a wild woman)

Coming soon: Framing quotes & a moving gift basket.

I hope I don't forget something

It's that time of year again. Tomorrow, I'm heading to see the sister! I'm not a big world traveler but I enjoy it when I get the chance. Whats on the agenda for sister week? Shopping, lunch dates, arts/crafts, annual sister pictures (which make fabulous gifts all year around) & lots of fun. Also I get to see my niece & nephew (more on those sweet nugs, soon!)

My bags are pretty much packed! Can't believe I fit 8 outfits, 5 pairs of shoes & several workout clothes all in one bag. (GO ME!) Also- I'm loving my TR luggage tag.
Not pictured: The new fabulous leopard ipad zip up case. (Definitely wont be forgetting that, I gotta keep track of my fav bloggers)

Every time I travel, I always say "I hope I don't forget something". So I always over pack, but ya never know what ya might need.

One of my favorite quotes! Considering, I'm usually dressed up..even if i'm just heading to the grocery store. (not necessarily too impress anyone, just makes ME feel good) If you like the actual print & want to buy it, go here. Or you could just DIY (Upcoming posts:framing quotes).

I also couldn't leave for a week without a lunch date with my favorite guy.

Whether I like it or not, school will be starting again soon. Don't get me wrong, I love this time of year. (I'm going to be a teacher, I've gotta love school..right?) Especially August- new school supplies, the feeling of starting a new routine, football season, THE WEATHER. So, I am looking for a cute planner. Last year- I found a last minute one at Office Depot. I liked it but I want my new planner to be a bit more personalized. I've looked through etsy but just can't seem to fine the perfect one for me. Yes, If I was a loving wife & mama of 2 boys & 1 girl (I'm not planning or anything, HA) then I'd love an Erin Condren Planner. As for now, I'm just a college girl who needs to write down when my next test or lunch date will be.
Any ideas on where to find fun personalized planners??  Or any must have school supplies?( I'm a sucker for cute school supplies..I guess that's just the teacher in me.)

Have a good rest of the week.
