I hope I don't forget something

It's that time of year again. Tomorrow, I'm heading to see the sister! I'm not a big world traveler but I enjoy it when I get the chance. Whats on the agenda for sister week? Shopping, lunch dates, arts/crafts, annual sister pictures (which make fabulous gifts all year around) & lots of fun. Also I get to see my niece & nephew (more on those sweet nugs, soon!)

My bags are pretty much packed! Can't believe I fit 8 outfits, 5 pairs of shoes & several workout clothes all in one bag. (GO ME!) Also- I'm loving my TR luggage tag.
Not pictured: The new fabulous leopard ipad zip up case. (Definitely wont be forgetting that, I gotta keep track of my fav bloggers)

Every time I travel, I always say "I hope I don't forget something". So I always over pack, but ya never know what ya might need.

One of my favorite quotes! Considering, I'm usually dressed up..even if i'm just heading to the grocery store. (not necessarily too impress anyone, just makes ME feel good) If you like the actual print & want to buy it, go here. Or you could just DIY (Upcoming posts:framing quotes).

I also couldn't leave for a week without a lunch date with my favorite guy.

Whether I like it or not, school will be starting again soon. Don't get me wrong, I love this time of year. (I'm going to be a teacher, I've gotta love school..right?) Especially August- new school supplies, the feeling of starting a new routine, football season, THE WEATHER. So, I am looking for a cute planner. Last year- I found a last minute one at Office Depot. I liked it but I want my new planner to be a bit more personalized. I've looked through etsy but just can't seem to fine the perfect one for me. Yes, If I was a loving wife & mama of 2 boys & 1 girl (I'm not planning or anything, HA) then I'd love an Erin Condren Planner. As for now, I'm just a college girl who needs to write down when my next test or lunch date will be.
Any ideas on where to find fun personalized planners??  Or any must have school supplies?( I'm a sucker for cute school supplies..I guess that's just the teacher in me.)

Have a good rest of the week.

Bench

I finally headed to Hobby Lobby & Walmart and got the supplies I needed for the bench. I tried to sand it..(ha. between the loud noise & worrying about my shellac nails, the story ends there) I did paint it turquoise and got pretty leopard happy. (What'd you expect from this leopard loving girl?) My moms favorite quote is "Life is Good", so I painted it on the bench. 3 hours & 8 mosquitoe bites later, it's FINISHED! (No wonder it's considered my mom's bench. I've never been the "outdoorsy" type.)

Before-

After ( told ya, I got leopard happy!)

I watch GMA in the mornings and love the Deals & Steals. They show the DS arond 8:15 and you can go online and order whatever you like, with the code. Go here to check it out. I finally received my first Deal & Steal from GMA- Textile & Republic product. You can pick the design, colors, letters etc.

My fabulous luggage tag (on the back it says a fun quote & my address) I'm ready to use it for my trip next week!
Also-My new iphone cover. I am very pleased with how they turned out! (I'm slightly obssesed with the Chevron pattern these days!)

Summer days

As much as I love winter & cold temperatures, the summer hasn't been so bad. I'm finally getting over the anxiety of worrying about preparing lessons, or making powerpoint presentations. My new busy is finding what I'm going to wear to the next social event. (that is a whole new anxiety level of it's own, for this fashion loving girl!) Remember the post about painting the bench? Well between my busy schedule of sleeping in, (as if I was still a social loving teenager in highschool ) my shopping dilemas, & pool time..I plan on getting started soon! (after I head to lowes/ hobby lobby for supplies & buy a million  other things I DON'T need)

Love me some pool time in this Texas heat.
(I know you all can't wait for a video blog about how to have perfect hair at the pool. HA:)

I've also been loving lunch dates with this spunky guy! He takes orders from the princess. (no wonder he's my favorite in the family!)
No doubt this picture completely describes us. Never a dull moment.

Ya know that bestfriend you talk to like 5 times a day, & you can talk about anything in the world? The one who will go out with you in public, even when you look like a HOT MESS. The one who is completely honest with you and gives you the best advice (even when you don't want to hear it) The one who had to put with you being a bratty/whiney little sister. The one who you totally admire as being the perfect wife. Yeah...well that person for me is my SISTER! We talk/text quite a few times a day & this week she is on a cruise! (In other words-she can't talk to me unless she wants to pay a billion dollars a day) I am missing my partner in crime (well maybe I shouldn't use those exact words, considering she's one of those people who hasn't ever stepped on an ant running across the sidewalk, or cut in line at the grocery store) but you get the idea.

Hope your having a lovely vacation sissy! A couple more weeks, Ill be heading to her house for some sister time. (more on that soon!)

This post could not be anymore RANDOM! But do any of you watch Dance Moms on Lifetime? (I won't deny it..every Tuesday at 8pm, I'm ready for a cat fight. Favorite dances moms=Christy & Kelly..no doubt! Don't even ask this future teacher's opinion about the fiesty Abby Lee Miller) It's that time again...Moolenium Crunch in hand, ready for some DM!

Rainy Randoms

I have a selected few blogs that are bookmarked on my ipad that I follow regularly! My favorite bloggers are mainly fabulous mommas who are fun, creative and have precious kiddos, or teacher blogs who inspire me with exciting classroom ideas! Most college kids don't blog..so i'm a mom/craft/teacher follower. I noticed one of my favorite blog mommas at www.thetichenorfamily.com did a "fantasty dinner party post." Basically, you pick ten famous people who you would love to have at your dinner party. No judging my picks!

1. Miranda Lambert- love love love her! I've seen her in concert and she puts on a heck of a show. She's one badass chick. An amazing country artist & she can definitely hold her own. & best of all..she's a southern belle from TEXAS!

2. Blake Shelton-(Miranda's hubby) He seems like a pretty down to earth guy. He's hilarious and another fabulous country artisit. (he's not too shabby looking either ha!)

3.Kourtney Kardashian-I'm obssessed with her style and would love to visit the Dash store! No doubt she'd be one of the best dressed at the party!

4. Hoda Kotb- oh Hoda woman! The fourth hour of the Today show is where the party is at. She loves music and knows every word. She seems so down to earth and hilarious!

5. George Bush- I think he's a pretty respectable man & he's from Texas..need I say more?

6. Jeniffer Nettles- love me some SUGARLAND! She's a favorite around my family..& she's funky and fun

7 Eva Longoria, Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, & Felicity Huffman (better known as the cast of Desperate Housewives)- I've definitely been going through withdrawls since the last season ended. I know those four can spice up any party. I've had to come to reality that Wisteria Lane is only a fake street in a studio.  I'd love to get to know their REAL personalities yet still reminisce about DH.

8. Dr. Phil & his wife Robin- I think Dr. Phil is a pretty respectable guy & i'd love to pick his brain. His wife seems like such a sweet supportive lady. & Dr. Phil was  born in OK but raised in Texas..another southerner!

9. Nate Berkus- isn't he adorable? & his decorating style is simply contagious!

I know, I went over ten guest but I'm sure I could handle it. (of course, Its a given my family would be there too!) Who would be at your fantasty party??

I love rainy days like today. Movies & snacks have been on the schedule. I've had no problem adjusting to these summer days without studying or making lesson plans. I do have some crafting projects in mind. An old yucky bench on the front porch, I plan on jazzing up with some fun paint colors. (before/after pictures will be up soon) I also have another Art Walk this week at the NCCIL. I'm sticking with the Lorax theme, so i'm thinking book marks/pencils. I'll post pictures of what I come up with.

Pinterest never fails me. Such an inspiration & love those colorful balloons. Thinking of framing it or maybe having it printed on a notebook.

Have a blessed week!

Weekend wrap

It was a fun weekend spent at the Ranger game! I can't fool anyone..I don't know much about baseball (but at least I know more about it than football) It was super hot but once the sun went down, it was a nice evening. I honestly don't even know who they played against but I do know they won! (Lets be honest..the only thing I was concerned about was my outfit & my louis vuitton not getting peanuts all over it!)

After the game was over, they had people in bikes with little seats behind them. They offered to drive you or should i say "bike" you to your car for a tip. The blisters from my coach shoes were crying out for a ride back to the car, so i hopped in! (that may have just been the funnest part of the game for this baseball loving girl HA!)

The fourth of July is tomorrow! Im a sucker when it comes to holidays/birthdays. I am always up for some fun festivities. ( & you can't forget the yummy snacks) I've seen some fabulous stuff on pinterest..as always.

You can't go wrong with CUPCAKES!

A trip back down memory lane..(told ya I was extra festive, even in high school) My home made flag dress! (with the help of my gay friends, & lots of safety pins, I was def supporting America.~ sigh, the things I did in highschool..even back then I had obssesion about my outfits for every single occasion.)

Hope your 4th of July is full of sparkle & shine!!!
