Happy Late Father's Day

I've been nothing short of busy! Behind on my blogging but better late than never..right?

(Last year at the ranch)
My dad is creative, fun, and carefree. He has an artistic characteristic about him that is contagious. You wouldn't know it by looking at him but he's nothing short of creative. My sister and I definitely got the creative genes from this guy! I am told I have my mom's face and my dad's body. Definitely got his calves (yes, the kind where I can't even buy cute knee high boots in the winter because they won't zip.) My sister is just the opposite, she has dad's face and mom's tiny body. Weird how all that works out! Anyway.. He's always been total cowboy (& no not one of those guys that dresses up in a cowboy hat and shined boots every year for the WHC rodeo..he's the real deal my friends!) Now he's a beach boy/cowboy. Yes, hes "that guy" that rides horses on the beach in the sunset..(sorry ladies he's not single) Sad I couldn't spend Father's day with him but I'll see him in August!

(My PA--my mom's dad)
You can always find a smile on grandpa's face. He enjoys life, loves him family, the Lord and is definitely a joker. He's extra spoiled by my Ma but aren't we all? I live a street away from my grandparents so I see those love bugs pretty often. We headed out for a yummy steak at Lytle Land & Cattle to celebrate Pa! Such a fun evening with lots of laughs.

So blessed with a crazy family..there is never a DULL moment.

Blessed!

First off, it has been the busiest summer ever!  You can always find me doing some type of project for school. It's not always fun for a second grader to learn about parts of speech but I do my best to make it as interesting as possible. (The life of a teacher..i suppose) More on my "fishing for sentences" activity later.

I always catch up on my blog reading on Friday. One of my regulars was hosting a link up to show your homes etc. So as I was viewing some fun pictures of different homes and getting cute ideas, I came across a blog about a family who had lost everything in a fire. I continued to read some of her later posts and she was such an inspiration. "My God can move this mountain, and he can move your mountain too." I really found this quote to be very inspirational. Lets be honest..I love my coach bags, jon hart tote, leopard clothes, brighton jewlery, ipad etc. I can not imagine LOSING EVERYTHING?!  This lady has totally relied on God for everything. She does miss her stuff..who wouldn't? But she knows that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and the good Lord will provide!

As I grow each day and move more toward being an "independent adult", I realize how totally blessed I am! I am so blessed with an amazing family, wonderful friends, a roof over my head, a car to drive, clothing, good health, food, the list could go on forever...
I know that I shouldn't be so materialistic. This is only our temporary home and the "stuff" that we have will not matter.

Keep your life free from the love of money,
and be content with what you have, for he has said,
"I will never leave you nor forsake you."
-Hebrews 13:5

Call me crazy

I've been crazy busy doing art projects! Phew! 31 art projects in two weeks, and i'm done with my maymester! YAY! I'll be back in the classroom again on Monday, starting my two Summer 1 classes.

I had some down time on Memorial Day weekend and headed to the pool!

Exactly what I need for an afternoon at the pool. I've never been a big coke drinker. Infact I've only had one sip of carbonation my whole life. Call me crazy, I just hate carbonation! ICK! I also can't stand the taste of bottle water. I've got some funky taste buds! Anywho, I've finally found a brand of bottle water that I like. EVIAN! My sweet sister introduced me, and i've been hooked! It will cost ya a bit more but it sure is convienent to travel, go to the lake/pack the cooler now that I found a bottled drink that I enjoy. Don't let me fool you being a non coke drinker. I still indulge in other fattening things such as hershey's chocolate bars and french fries:)

As for this weekend, you can probably find me back at the pool with some yummy snacks.I'm a pinterest junkie and came across these...

Have I mentioned how much I love Friday? Love the feeling of having the whole weekend ahead (especially when studying is NOT in the weekend plans). I also have lunch with my momma every Friday. We always eat somewhere yummy and never gossip!  After lunch, I always catch myself checking out the bargains at TJ Max! So i'm headed out to do just that!

Happy Weekend!

Family Fun

This weekend was short and sweet but filled with family fun! Mom and I drove my grandparents down to my Aunts for the weekend to celebrate her birthday, and see my sister and brother-in-law! We ate lots of cake, had lots of laughs, and enjoyed each others company. I didn't get as many pictures as planned, I'll try harder next time!

Party pictures!~My sister and my Aunt                     ~My mom, aunt & Ma
((My aunt is going to be 61!! Shocked?! I know..She looks about 40!))
We had some super cute party balloons and napkins too!

Meet these two bugs! Ma & Pa. They are the sweetest grandparents on the planet whom I adore so much! They are aging which makes us all sad. We  celebrate and enjoy life as much as we can while they are still with us!

One of my bestfriends and partner in crime..my momma! We had lots of fun this weekend and did what we do best.."ENJOYED LIFE!" Overall, it was a pretty fun weekend!

I've got lots of art projects to complete this week. I'm definitely a "social girl" (I get it from my momma) So i'm always thinking about the next social event which is Memorial day weekend--I'm trying to think of something fun for thisweekend. Perhaps swimming and a cookout? Or fishing and sun fun at the lake?..guess we will see. Have a blessed week!

Everyone is doing it

I've jumped on the bandwagon! Several of the blogs I follow participate in What I'm Loving Wednesdays! (compliments of the cute graphic logo I found goes to my new favorite blogger at www.littlepinkshadytree.blogspot.com)

First off lets just say I am totally loving my first Wednesday of my maymester class. It's an elementary art education class, and it's completely laid back and so stress free..I sometimes catch myself worrying about not being stressed because I am so use to a chaotic schedule and being so overwhelmed!

Every Wednesday night at 9:00, you can find me glued to the TV! I am totally hooked on Revenge!!

For those of you who know me..i love me some leopard!! I bought this top last week at Express and I love it. You can dress it up with some colorful pants as shown above (that I could never pull off) or with some cute jeans. I've worn it with scute black shorts & fun sandals! Like what you see..check it out here

I may be the last person in town to have these but I love them! I saw them online and they were out of stock at Target. Well to my surprise they got more in, and I snatched them up! I don't usually buy cheap shoes (blame that on my Dilliard's loving Grannie) but these were too cute to pass up. Plus they are LEOPARD an extra plus for this girl! I think they are on sale now, so go buy some here.

I am also loving my fun lunch dates with this sassy girl! I am so blessed she's my Grannie and that I get to spend time with her. Words can't describe how much this lady does for me, my family, and so many others!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far, friday is near! I am getting excited for the weekend. Stay tuned for a fun filled weekend with lovely grandparents, my seester, and hopefully a few goodies I find while shopping. Enjoy the rest of your week &&...

Rodeo Weekend

I finished up my last final on Thursday and was ready for a fun weekend! Grades aren't posted on the internet until this week sometime? (Shoot..I'm still waiting!) So I decided it was time to forget about school for a while and get on with my weekend.

On friday it was GIRLS DAY! I had lunch with my friend Chasidy and then we headed to the Mall. (Please ignore my extremly white skin,  compared to "barbie girl" next to me.)

Saturday I headed to the NCCIL. A little tissue paper, a small cup, and green pipecleaners and we made our mama's a flower bouquet!

Saturday night, It was time for the Western Heritage Classic! For those of you who have never been, it's a weekend full of fun! Parades, horses races, horse training, spur shows, and lots of family fun. The best part of all: the sassy rhinestone booths! I definitely did my fair share of shopping before the rodeo!

Don't yall just love Red Stamp? Such a fun App. I'm always sending out a colorful card to all my favorites. Of course, Sunday was Mother's day. Happy late Mother's day to all you lovely ladies! I've got a pretty spunky mama too! She loves her family, Jesus and likes to have a good time. Thanks for all you do little lady!

My Maymester Art class starts tomorrow! As long as It doesn't start at 8am..I'm not complaining! This girl also needs to get back in the GYM! I'm looking forward to a fun family weekend ahead and celebrating my Aunts 60th birthday!!

Have a blessed week!

Finals week

I am about to finish up my Junior year in college! It has been a good semester but like most college students, I need a break! I plan to start taking more pictures to document my life. A few highlights of this semester...
I started working at the NCCIL (National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature). I plan the art activities for Art Walk every month and sometimes on Saturdays. The art activity is always free and fun for children! Above is our St. Patricks day masks! Note: I don't take pictures of the kiddos or post on the internet for safety reasons..so most of the NCCIL pictures will be of me :)

I also turned 21 this semester!! Whoo hoo! (If anyone of you know me, I'm not exactly "experienced" in the alcohol department! LOL )
I also got accepted into the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society! For most of you who know me, I've never been the "academic girl" thats definitely my sisters department. I'm more of the "social bug" so an academic honor for this girl, was definitely a shock for the fam! ((Perhaps I am taking after my big seeester!))
Whats on the agenda this week? STUDYING!! It's finals week, so close to being done! I'm also looking forward to my special lunch date with my grandparents this week (more on those loves of my life soon) & the Western Heritage Classic is this weekend! YEAH! Stay tuned...I'm on a hunt for an outfit for the WHC rodeo.
